Nasa Djeca and Kuca na Pola Puta are set up as independent organisations registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, governed and run by local employees and volunteers. The Foundation continues to oversee their activities and support them with funding, advice and other resources. This principle of local empowerment is important to achieve long term sustainable improvements for the children and young people. It also creates jobs and builds local skills and resources which all contribute to the wider post-war recovery process within the country.

It is important to recognise that these projects have been set up in collaboration with other organisations and government agencies. The ongoing success of the projects is not only dependent upon the support and fundraising efforts of Our Kids Foundation, but also the significant support provided by our partners. Together we achieve much more than any of us could do on our own.
